Captivity is Seductive… But Purpose is Magnetic

Today is the day!

Today is the day a W-2 ain’t sexy no more.

Purpose? Now that’s seductive. Purpose will pull you in, hold your gaze, whisper in your ear, and make you move different. Purpose is attractive. Purpose is magnetic. Purpose manifests. And from this day forward, that’s the only thing I want to be caught up in...wherever God is taking me, not the place He pulled me out of.

See, activity is tempting. Somebody waves “financial stability” in your face, or dangles a shiny “opportunity” with a little title attached… it’s tempting. But what are you really binding yourself to?

Half these systems ain’t designed to heal you, restore you, or free you. They’re built to control you.

And they know how to make it look good...pleasing to the eye, sounding wise, smelling like “next level” when really…it’s just a dressed-up cage.

I’m not saying don’t get a job. I’m not saying don’t work. The Bible already said if you don’t work, you don’t eat. But let’s be real...captivity has a smell. Comfort can trap you. Stability...if it’s fake...can choke the life right out of your purpose.

What kingdom work are you really doing if you’re feeding righteousness to an unrighteous cause?

What glory are you giving God if your eyes are wide shut while the very thing cutting your check is killing your people?

This ain’t just theory. I’m in this fight today. My flesh wants that check, that W, that “security” with Social Security taxes and Medicare snatched off the top. And for what? Don’t even get me started on FICO. Wages earned… gone to places I’ll never see, used in ways I don’t understand.

But I can’t lie...captivity still looks good in the right light.

So here’s my choice: If I’m going to be bound to anything, I need God to put me there. Because if He planted me in that system, I ain’t bound to the system...I’m bound to His will while I’m in it. And if He says I’m just passing through? Then I’m passing through...but I’m passing through on assignment.

Because I refuse to be seduced by a paycheck when I’m called to be driven by purpose.
